I just found you, while looking at your pattern review for a raglan sleeved vogue jacket, and I find Irish dance wear! My oldest daughter is 6 and learns Irish dancing. I have been in terror of her getting older and needing a proper dress. Here in London, they cost about £900!!!! Obviously a lot of work goes into these one off confections. Yours are gorgeous. Your model looks chuffed to bits with hers. I would be too.
Patricia is a Canadian textile artist, born in the Niagara Peninsula. Following her studies she pursued a career as a costume designer and maker. In this field she practiced and developed a wide variety of artistic textile techniques. After many years in this area, Patricia sustained a spinal injury and was told by her Doctor to stop the heavy costume work she had been doing daily and to "...work on nothing heavier than a hat". Taking him literally, she undertook the Millinery Certificate programme at George Brown College. Patricia holds a BA, and is a Certified Artist/Educator as well as an award winning, certified milliner.
A number of years ago, Patricia began producing her own line of millinery and accessories. Using her own patterns and designs, Patricia dyes and paints the fabrics, cuts and manipulates them into shape and combines them with techniques such as embroidery and beading into unique wearable art pieces. All of Patricia's items are individually hand made.
